Dean Mitchell – Master Artist
Dean of the brush stroke
His roots, his character, his soul are all evident in his brush strokes. Dean Mitchell grew up in small town Quincy, Florida, in a predominantly African American neighborhood where art was rare and artists were an anomaly. While other children played games
and sports, Mitchell found refuge in drawing and painting, expressing himself and his emotions through images inspired by daily life in his hometown.
“My work is not about color; it’s about life. Once you get to know your subjects, you can develop a love that comes through in your work. In the end, you hope you can do something that will help people come together. Emotions are universal, no matter what color the skin.” – Dean Mitchell

I am writing to you because your name appears as an artist that sold work at the Greenwich Workshop Gallery Small Works North America 2008 exhibition. A work of mine sold at the exhibition. I have yet to receive payment for my portion of the sale. I have finally received word from Chris Usher that Greenwich forecasts paying artists within a 3 – 6 month window.
I wonder if you have experienced a similar problem with this outfit or if I am alone. Have you received your full payment from Greenwich? What steps did you or are you pursuing to expedite full payment from Greenwich? Any ideas that you could share would be welcomed. Thank you for your consideration.
